A Queen Anne pistol by Thomas

Archer

Click thumbnail to enlarge
Made by Birmingham gun-maker Thomas Archer in the mid 1700’s. It has the signature “Thomas” and I suspect it’s brother had the signature “Archer”. The silver grotesque cap has three hall marks, Lion, Anchor and the date letter “I”. The proof marks are “Crown over P” and “Crown over V” This lovely little pistol is about 7” long.
