A very nice Queen Anne pistol by

Farmer & Galton James B. Formed partnership with brother-in-law Samuel Galton – worked in London 1748-1765. Gunmakers of London 1350-1850 With 2 1/8” turn-off canon barrel this pistol is approximately 8” overall The boxlock action is beautifully engraved on one side with a stand of arms and on the other side with the makers name. Carries London and private proof marks. Bulbous stock with Chinoiserie wire inlay with floral highlights. Fine silver relief cast crest plate is engraved with rampant lion under a star. Silver cap in high relief. With sliding trigger guard safety this pistol is a superb example of the gunsmith’s art during the middle of the eighteenth century.
